Our Projects

Skill Development Program

DEW has always firmly believed in the importance of training as the most essential component for the development of human resources. Hence, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Women Affairs and World Food Program, DEW has been providing assistance to a community-based organization (CBO) for skill development located at char areas of Sharishabari Upazila under Jamalpur District.

Livelihoods of Char dwellers

With the objectives to improving livelihood security of the distressed dwellers of River Island (Char), DEW started its development activities from char lands of the river Jamuna under Jamalpur District from 1996. To have effective programming on chars DEW has been implementing a research project funded by DFID/CPHP-NRI and planning to implement research findings through action program.

Handicrafts Program

One of the central objectives of DEW is the promotion of the Arts and Crafts sector of Bangladesh. As a board member of Ecota Fair Trade Forum and International Fair Trade Association (IFAT) we are engaged in promoting Arts and Crafts of the country.
